A couple of capable fighters, Abd Al-Wahh and Goncalves, did battle at K1 Heroes 21 - Epic on 2008-06-14 00:00:00. Once touted as the next big thing from Arabia Saudita, Abd Al-Wahh has gone 13-1-13 so far in his career. One of the best fights of the evening was pure violence.

Now, the interesting part about this fight is, Abd Al-Wahh is a very smart fighter. He knows exactly where he wants to take the fight, and isn't afraid to trade punches with Henrique until he gets there. The question is, will the standup portion of the fight fare well for Abd Al-Wahh, or will he get caught with a knockout punch? I guess we'll have to wait and see. Goncalves glared at Abd Al-Wahh in the prefight stare down. Abd Al-Wahh simply smiled back in ashow of confidence. There was no shaking of hands, or touching of gloves in this one. After the ref was done his talk, there was no show of respect between these two combatants. Clearly, they were all business in this one.

And so the round begins… Abd Al-Wahh lands the first kick, a nice long distance chop to the outside of Goncalves, Goncalves responds with a high kick, they clinch and start jostling for position. "Allah" lands shots to the body and face as Goncalves struggles to mount some sort of offense. Henrique "Big Fat" Goncalves showed a lot of heart to stay on his feet as Muhammad peppered him with shots. Goncalves is starting to find his range while countering "Allah"'s kicks. "Allah" continues to box from the outside and pepper his opponent with jabs and low kicks. In a quick instant though, Goncalves scores a big takedown and some punches from his opponents back. Henrique "Big Fat" Goncalves was mounted on "Allah", almost catching him in an armbar, but Henrique "Big Fat" Goncalves managed to get out from this trap and stood back up. Henrique goes for the kill with a punching with closed fist but it fails to find its mark and "Allah" puts him on his back once again. The round ends soon after..

Round 2 starts with a heavy jab followed by a knee and kick that drops Goncalves. Henrique stepped in with a head stomping, but was not able to take control, as Muhammad held his ground. Goncalves already has blood trickling down from the bridge of his nose. Muhammad is getting the better of the exchanges and tags "Big Fat" with an evil punch to the body followed by an uppercut. "Big Fat" drops from the uppercut and scrambles for the leg. "Allah" finished the fight winning via TKO victory by towel at 00:15 of round 2.

Muhammad really played up to crowd afterwards, and they ate up every bit of it. Clearly this is one star that is on the rise. “I wasn’t making adjustments quick enough,” Henrique said after the fight. One thing is for sure though, Henrique will be back. Credit to "Allah" for the great victory. Abd Al-Wahh was really funny in his post-fight followup. The fans clearly are getting into this guy, and this star is on the rise. Big things are expected out of him in the future.
