In a much anticipate fight, John "The Don" Corleone, hailing from USA, took on highly skilled Sambo / Kickboxing practicioner, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, in crowd pleasing 3 round fight. Fyodor and John put on a heck of a show in this matchup. The crowd was extatic for this matchup between Fyodor Dostoyevsky and John "The Don" Corleone. These two combatants were squaring off in front of a jam-packed arena of rabid screaming fans.

Fyodor Dostoyevsky looked calm and confident as the ref ran down the rules of the fight. John "The Don" Corleone in comparison looked eager to get the fight started. Both fighters came in with something to prove and its been no secret they the two were not the best of friends. Corleone glared at Fyodor Dostoyevsky in the prefight stare down. Fyodor Dostoyevsky simply smiled back in ashow of confidence.

Round 1 starts with a heavy jab followed by a slams that drops Fyodor. John "The Don" Corleone started to exert controller, picking his shots and landing more than a few. Fyodor seemed one-step behind in defending and ate punches to the face and kicks the legs, and seemed frustrated as the round ended. Fyodor looked pretty good here -- for about a dozen seconds. From the bell he came in quickly with a flying knee and palm strikes, then tossed up a good high kick, intent on taking charge. But "The Don" would have none of it. Awesome exchange of punches with both fighters connecting. Corleone working against the fence, showing more attention to wrist control than striking. John "The Don" Corleone lands a nasty right and immediately clinches into the fence. He secures double underhooks and lands some knees as Fyodor punches to the thighs. Round 1 ends with John in Fyodor's guard from a takedown.

In round 2 "The Don" attempted a takedown but ended up taking guard after Dostoyevsky sprawled. John "The Don" Corleone escapes to his feet, where he is roughed up bad by several right hands and knees to the body. After a doctor intervened to check a cut sustained in the standup exchange, he allowed the fight to continue. Fyodor Dostoyevsky comes forward and lands a nice knee to the groin. Corleone threw a closed fist punches on ground that opened up a cut on Fyodor Dostoyevsky. This didn't seem to faze the lonestar fighter one bit though. Blood streaming down everywhere, Fyodor Dostoyevsky seemed to get better the more pounding he took. A barrage of unanswered punches from Dostoyevsky left everybody waiting for the referee stoppage when Corleone was literally saved by the bell.

Fyodor Dostoyevsky barely waited to hear the bell ring to sound the start of round 3 before charging John "The Don" Corleone with a big flying knee that landed sending him to the mat. A relentless Fyodor scores a takedown. The ref has to stop the action to repair dangling tape from John's gloves. Quick scramble from both athletes sees a foot lock attempt from John. Twice John went for a neck lock to the wrong side. Now John reverses position and is standing over Fyodor, who's prone on his back. The two meet again as John dives in, but Fyodor shucks him off and they return to the feet. John forced him hard into the cage, controlling him with the overhooks. Keeping his composure though, Dostoyevsky performed a nice hip twist, using John's own weight to slam him down to the canvas. In what was a scramble, Dostoyevsky ended on top. Fyodor lands another outside chop and immediately attempts a toehold catching "The Don" in the hold. "The Don" spent the next few moments struggling to get free before finally wresting from the grasp of Fyodor standing back up. The action returns to the feet and stays there until the fight ends. Fyodor is given the decision victory.


It was abundantly clear that Fyodor Dostoyevsky had been working on his Sambo / Kickboxing for this match, he looked sharp and methodical. That was an excellent fight. We always knew that this matchup would create fireworks in the ring, and the outcome definitely did not disappoint. With Fyodor moving up the ladder, we could very well see a new champion in the making.
